No line on the horizon? no end to disappointing albums, more like.
Get your act together, bono, edge, larry, and adam.
Let's look at the record:
Boy - one of the greatest first albums of all time
October - the album that cemented u2 as a legitimate outfit
War - the album that propelled u2 to famousity
Under a blood red sky - the album that proved u2 could do the whole massive concert thing
Unforgettable fire - showed that u2 could think outside the box
Joshua tree - a groundbreaking album, and not only for u2, but for rock as a genre
Rattle and hum - 4 boys from ireland playing music from n'orleans? fantastic
Achtung baby - passionate rock with that same "outside the box" feel of unforgettable fire
Zooropa - experimental and weird, ft. johnny cash on the last track
Pop - losing it a bit, but still as warm as anything before it
All that you can't leave behind - truly pop music, with a sound too clean to have any warmth
How to dismantle an atomic bomb - 1 or 2 great songs, yet still lacking the warm sound of achtung and joshua tree
No line on the horizon - another long title, annoying in that the music is a vehicle for bono, not an integral part at all. again so clean cut and cold as to have all the charm of a small piece of graphite
Don't agree? listen to "the fly", then listen to "breathe", or even "new york", or "love and peace or else", and then come back to me. still don't agree? meh.
From,
A SamfiSh
P.S. this was originally going to be just the title, then it was just gonna be the title and the title repeated. I got carried away somewhat...
